STEVE DAVIS has over thirty years of aviation experience beginning as a helicopter crewman in the U.S. Coast Guard, then as a flight instructor and corporate pilot accumulating 1500 hours before serving seventeen years with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an Air Traffic Control Specialist in Chicago and Milwaukee, and later, working for an FAA Contracting firm. In the U.S. Coast Guard, Steve was involved in numerous search and rescue/lifesaving missions. As a Flight Instructor at Kenosha Aero, he managed a small flight school and provided private and commercial flight instruction and was involved with freight and charter operations as well. And as a Corporate Pilot and Sales Manager at Racine Flame Spray, Inc., Steve covered the eastern half of the country visiting plants in the paper industry. Steve served as an Air Traffic Controller with the FAA at Chicago Meigs Airport and Milwaukee International Airport where he also served as the union representative for 48 controllers. He then took a job with an FAA contractor as an Operations Research Specialist providing airspace analysis, and managed the Federal Rule Making process for US controlled airspace related to Global Positioning System (GPS) and other navigational system instrument approach procedures for the FAA’s Great Lakes Region. Steve is now the owner/operator of Sky Shots Aerial Photography and Surveying. Utilizing an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), Sky Shots captures pictures and videos from a unique aerial perspective. Steve is also a volunteer consultant and liaison to the Ripon Area Fire District and the City of Ripon Police Department leading the efforts to establish their first Drone Program. Steve has a degree in Aeronautics-Pilot training, is a certified commercial pilot, and Remote Pilot with small Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) rating. Aviation is in his blood and he enjoys giving back to his home town community of Ripon, Wisconsin. Happily married to Kim Davis.
